Trump shares AI photo of fake endorsement from Taylor Swift

Republican presidential nominee former President Donald Trump arrives to speak in Ashville, North Carolina

(NewsNation) — Former President Donald Trump shared AI-generated images on Truth Social that suggested pop star Taylor Swift supported his 2024 presidential reelection campaign, but she’s made no such endoresment.

On Sunday, the former president shared what appeared to be an X screengrab of a fake image of Swift with text that read “Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump.” Trump also shared several screenshots of photos of women wearing “Swifties for Trump” T-shirts.

“I accept!” Trump captioned the post of the fake images.

Fake image shared on X which former President Donald Trump then shared on Truth Social.

Additionally, Trump shared a video of a woman stating, “The Swifties are waking up,” following the terror plot that led to the cancellation of Swift’s concerts in Vienna, Austria.

Swift, who has notably criticized Trump in past years, has yet to endorse a presidential candidate for the 2024 election. However, she backed President Joe Biden in 2020. Before Biden dropped out of the race, Trump said in February that “there’s no way” Swift would endorse Biden’s reelection campaign.

Swift has not responded publicly to the images.

It’s lit fights in the replies on X of people who believe Swift fans would be inclined to support Trump and those criticizing him for sharing something that could mislead voters.

Meanwhile, Swift fans are hopeful that she’ll appear at the Democratic National Convention this week in Chicago, CNN reported, although sources said that big name speakers are still being finalized.
