NEW YORK (WPIX) – Someone has the Krabby Patty secret formula and they’re letting you have a taste.
Marking 25 years of the beloved TV show “SpongeBob SquarePants,” Wendy’s announced their “Krabby Patty Kollab” menu on Wednesday.
The highlight of the menu is, of course, the “Krabby Patty Kollab Burger,” built nearly to SpongeBob’s instructions: a toasted bun, a quarter-pound beef patty, pickle, onion, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and a top-secret Krabby Kollab sauce — but not necessarily “in that order.”
The limited-time menu also features a pineapple- and mango-flavored ‘Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty,” inspired by SpongeBob’s pineapple home.
The special menu will first be available in Los Angeles on Monday, Oct. 7, and Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Wendy’s immersive drive-thru experience. Starting Oct. 8, the Frosty and burger will be available company-wide in the U.S. and Canada and on the Wendy’s app.
SpongeBob, the “absorbent and yellow and porous” sponge, made his debut on Nickelodeon on May 1, 1999, in the pilot episode “Help Wanted.” As some viewers may remember, the episode kicked off SpongeBob’s career at the Krusty Krab.
The Wendy’s collaboration is the latest celebration of SpongeBob’s 25th year. Macy’s also previously announced the revamping of the SpongeBob SquarePants balloon ahead of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, along with a new Gary-inspired float for the first time this year.
