LSU football running back accused of attempted murder arrested

UNION PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — LSU football running back Trey Holly was arrested in connection to a Union Parish shooting at an apartment.

Deputies with the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting on Friday, Feb. 9 at an apartment complex in Farmerville, Louisiana around 10:30 p.m. Two victims suffered injuries from gunshot wounds, according to a release.

Holly, 19, was charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal use of weapon (on public roadway). His bond was set at $512,000.

Two other suspects were arrested in the case. The sheriff’s office identified them as Jordan Ramond Jones, 18, of Marion, and a 16-year-old from Farmerville.

The LSU Athletic Department released the following statement regarding Holly’s arrest.

“We are aware that a student-athlete has been arrested in relation to a shooting in Union Parish. This student-athlete has been suspended indefinity from all team activities, in accordance with departmental policies. Out of respect for the judicial process, we will have no further comment.”
