Police recover $2.4 million in stolen goods from Chicago store

The Flee Club, situated on the Near West Side of Chicago, was raided by police on July 2.

(NewsNation) — A high-end Chicago shoe store was raided by local police, with more than $2 million of stolen merchandise recovered.

Flee Club had $2.4 million worth of stolen merchandise seized by Cook County Police. Now, one of its owners and an employee are accused of knowingly purchasing stolen goods.

Darius Kelly, 44, and Jerry Walker, 50, are accused of willfully purchasing and selling the stolen goods to customers. Walker has also been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

During the raids, authorities also seized five firearms, close to 200 rounds of admonition and multiple magazines, per the sheriff’s office.

Flee Club has been known as something of a sneaker hotspot in Chicago, with rappers such as Lil Baby and Fabolous, among those seen in the store — as seen on Flee Club’s Instagram.

It is not the first incident Flee Club has endured relating to stolen goods. NewsNation affiliate WGN reported in October 2023 that more than $100,000 in merchandise was stolen from The Flee Club.
