Secret Service alerted after man allegedly throws chairs off balcony

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man is accused of throwing at least two chairs from a balcony at the J.W. Marriott hotel in Nashville, and now the Secret Service has been involved.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, an officer was flagged down by a hotel employee asking for assistance with a man causing a scene.

The employee said the man had vandalized the property by throwing a chair off a balcony. Hotel employees had asked him to leave but he refused, throwing at least two chairs off the balcony onto the sidewalk, according to an arrest affidavit.

Arrest records state the man was ranting about former President Trump and other political figures. While in custody, the man reportedly yelled about Trump needing to die because he was a liar.

Because of the threats against the former president, officers notified the Secret Service, the affidavit states.
