(NewsNation) — Jennifer Lopez has at least one person who wants her and Ben Affleck to stay together: His ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

Garner is said to be deeply concerned that Affleck could relapse during this trying time in his marriage to Jennifer Lopez

(Affleck has dealt with drugs, alcohol, and gambling issues over the past few decades.)

“(Garner) wants him happy and healthy so he can be the best dad possible,” a source told People magazine. Garner, 52, and Affleck share three kids: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.

Garner, who has dated chairman and CEO of Cali Group John Miller for the past five years, “likes that (Lopez) lives a healthy lifestyle and supports Ben’s sobriety. (Garner) wants that for Ben.”

In addition, my source said, “We all know that if Ben falls off the wagon, Jennifer (Garner) will have to pick up the pieces — she always does.”

In 2018, Garner spent the last weekend of summer not with her kids at the pool, but checking Affleck into rehab for the third time. The actor/director had relapsed after celebrating his 46th birthday.

At the time, the couple had been separated for three years (their divorce was finalized October 2018).

As I reported earlier, “Lopez is not particularly fond of Garner — and the two, while distantly friendly, do not speak.” However, Garner is firmly entrenched in Lopez’s corner; at least when it comes to Lopez and Affleck remaining married.

A rep for Garner didn’t reply to emails for comment.
