‘Mythbusters’ host Grant Imahara dead at 49

LOS ANGELES (News Nation) — Grant Imahara, a former star of the critically-acclaimed Discovery series “MythBusters,” a “Battlebots” Champion and recent “Battlebots” judge, died suddenly at the age of 49.

Imahara had a background as an electrical engineer, who spent ten years busting myths. Using his engineering experience, Imahara would bring tech to life.


“We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Grant. He was an important part of our Discovery family and a really wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family,” Discovery said in a statement.

He former co-stars are expressing support on social media.

Imahara died suddenly following a brain aneurysm, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

News Nation has not been able to independently verify.

Imahara was a graduate of University of Southern California. He started his career as an engineer at Lucasfilm, where he is credited with updating the R2-D2 robots for the Star Wars series.
