Chicago-area deputy delivers food after DoorDash driver arrested

KANE COUNTY, Ill. — The Kane County Sheriff’s office was caught on a Ring camera going the extra mile for a citizen.

A food delivery driver was arrested mid-delivery recently by Kane County law enforcement.

But no one would go hungry on their watch.

“My deputies always follow through. After having to arrest a food delivery driver, he completed the order to ensure no one went hungry,” the Sheriff Ron Hain posted on their Facebook page.

In the video, a sheriff’s officer is seen ringing the doorbell of a home while holding a bag of food. A woman answers the door and the officer says, “He got arrested but we wanted to make sure you got your food.”

“You guys are amazing,” the woman said. “Thank you.”

Police said the driver was working for DoorDash and was arrested because he had a fictitious registration and no valid license or insurance. His vehicle was towed.
