Kentucky mix-up leads to happy ending for shelter dog

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Lexington, Kentucky, shelter pup has waited more than two long years to find his forever home, and now the wait is over.

“Eminem has left the building,” the Lexington Humane Society said in a Facebook post on May 6.

The American Bulldog mix spent his time perfecting his social skills at Camp Bow Wow and receiving all the love from his foster family, per the Lexington Humane Society.

The Lexington Humane Society affirmed that Eminem’s story is a testament to how adoption love spreads far and wide.

“A father and son were looking for adoptable dogs near their hometown of Lexington, South Carolina,” the Lexington Humane Society said. “They did not realize they had stumbled upon our website when they saw Eminem’s profile. “

But distance wasn’t an issue. The family jumped in the car to go meet the pup.

“When they arrived at our Everyday Adoption Center at PetSmart, Eminem proved to be worth the drive and the wait! The duo soon became a trio, and we all bid Eminem a joyful farewell as he left to start his new life in South Carolina,” the Lexington Humane Society said.

“You do not have to be local to adopt from us. Adoption love stretches far and wide! Thank you to Eminem’s new family for taking a chance to meet him and for giving him a second chance at love,” the organization continued. “Best of luck to this sweet boy and his new best friends; we wish them a lifetime of happiness!

Eminem has since arrived at his new home, and the humane society said he’s settling in nicely with a big backyard, tons of toys, and plenty of love to go around.
