ST. PETERS, Mo. – It was a magical day for a local 3-year-old who’s battling cancer.
Despite cancer taking so much away from Cora Weber, she is still a fun-loving toddler with a contagious smile and a love for Disney, especially Elsa from “Frozen.”
At the Learning Experience in St. Peters Wednesday, Cora was all smiles, finding out her wish to go to Disney World was granted, with a send-off party for her and her family.
“This last year, she showed us she is a brave cookie. She was diagnosed with cancer right before her second birthday, and I mean, she dealt with chemo, radiation, her kidney being removed, a tumor; she’s seen it all,” her mother, Lisa, said. “She continues to be fearless.”
The trip has a special thanks to a group of preschoolers and families at the Learning Experience, who held fundraising events for Make-A-Wish Missouri and Kansas. In April, the center raised over $10,000, which allowed them to host Cora’s wish reveal.
“Being able to celebrate a local family like Cora’s is so fun, seeing the students get involved, especially since they all rallied around her,” CeCe Etter with Make-A-Wish said.
Cora will be heading to Disney World next week.
“Seeing Cora being rewarded with a trip like this, we’re just overwhelmed with gratitude and joy, and excited to see what comes next,” Cora’s father, Dusty, said.
