(NewsNation) — Equinox is launching Optimize by Equinox, a $40,000-per-year program that the gym says will improve overall health and longevity.
The gym has partnered with Function Health to launch what they’ve dubbed an ultra-luxury service — where data meets coaching — this month in New York City and Highland Park, Texas.
The program built for big-spending “biohackers” will feature a high-performance lab-testing fitness experience, led by health experts across sports, sleep, medicine and technology tailored to each member.
Brett Markowitz, the CEO and founder of ageRejuvenation Clinics across Tampa and Orlando, Florida, explained to NewsNation many things fitness enthusiasts could do daily to live longer without the luxury price tag.
“Everybody deserves to have a fair opportunity at health. I think you can achieve a lot of the things if you’re willing to invest in studying and reading and learning and not have to pay $40,000 to get some of those things,” he said.
Markowitz added: “Biohacking is a new term they’re using right now, but it’s just really you taking control of your health care. What can I do to stay young? What can I do to be in a preventative mindset? And what are the tools that are available to me in my small world that I live in?”
While Markowitz said you can do a version of this on your own, Mark Hyman, Function Health’s founder, insists this program is unique and exclusive.
“By combining Equinox’s expertise with Function Health’s 100+ lab test approach, we’re unlocking a level of health and fitness that surpasses even what top doctors and biohackers can access,” Hyman said in a statement.
Equinox is a luxury fitness option priced at $405 per month to access all 107 locations worldwide. Members can use a Health Savings Account to pay for the Optimize Equinox program.
