Husband of missing pregnant woman Mischa Johnson in custody: Army

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The husband of a woman that has been missing since Aug. 1 is in military custody, according to an update from the U.S. Army.

Private First Class Dewayne Arthur Johnson, II is “currently in military pretrial confinement in Hawaii.”


Johnson’s wife, Mischa, was reported missing by her husband after she was last seen the evening of July 31 at home.

Mischa is 19 years old and six months pregnant.

“We’re talking closely with the family. We’re looking at anything when it comes to surveillance cameras that are available to the general public. We’re trying to rebuild those timelines on where she might have been,” Special Agent in Charge, Ruben Santiago told NewsNation affiliate KHON at the onset of the investigation.

Mischa is five feet, two inches and is approximately 170 pounds and has a distinctive dragon tattoo on her back, per Army CID.

PFC Johnson, from Frederick, Maryland, was assigned to 25th Infantry Division and serves as a Cavalry Scout.

“This is a current and ongoing investigation, and no further information is available at this time. We encourage anyone who may have information regarding Mischa Johnson to contact U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) (808)-208-0059,” the Army said in a news release.
