CHICAGO (NewsNation Now) — FBI officials say election security is top of mind heading into Election Day and mail-in voting efforts are key in this year’s election.
Noah Praetz, Election Security Initiative shares his thoughts on election security.
“Vote by mail states will be fine. A lot of these ballots have already been processed and scanned,” Praetz said. “There may be some pre-processing this weekend or Monday, but then opening and scanning on Tuesday may see a little bit of delay, particularly in big jurisdictions.”
When asked if the nation will have an indication of our next president on Tuesday Praetz said “if this turns out to be an election like 2016 where the upper Midwest where it’s outcome-determinative then I would imagine it takes a couple of days.”
