Donald Trump holds news conference in California

(NewsNation) — Former President Donald Trump is speaking at a news conference Friday in Los Angeles ahead of a rally later in Nevada.

The Republican nominee is talking from Rancho Palos Verdes, a coastal city southwest of LA, at Trump National Los Angeles golf course.

He called on the city mayor John Cruikshank to discuss landslides in the area and the need for assistance for its residents.

Then, Trump bemoaned the state of California, describing it as a “mess” and suggested Vice President Kamala Harris would ensure the rest of the United States would soon follow the same path if elected.

Harris’s record in California, specifically her time as Attorney General and as a U.S. senator, was savaged by Trump throughout.

Trump also referred to himself as “the border president” continuously and asked the media to refer to him as such in their coverage several times.
