Florida Election Results Midterms 2022

(NewsNation) — Both Republican incumbents in Florida’s major statewide races have won re-election, NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ projects.

Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis has defeated Democratic challenger Charlie Crist and Republican Senator Marco Rubio has overcome Democrat Val Demings to defend his seat.

Former Florida Governor Charlie Crist went up against DeSantis with a liberal agenda based on what he called “justice for all.” Crist faced an uphill battle from the beginning and failed to overcome DeSantis who had amassed support for his response to Hurricane Ian and held a significant campaign fundraising advantage.
