Republican Ron Johnson projected winner in Wisconsin Senate race
NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the race for Wisconsin senator in favor of Republican incumbent Sen. Ron Johnson.
Johnson’s bid for reelection against Democrat Mandela Barnes was bitter on both ends.
Decision Desk: It’s possible night ends with Democrats holding House, Senate
A night that started with thoughts of a red wave is concluding with control of both the Senate and House still up in the air. Scott Tranter, adviser to Decision Desk HQ, said it won’t be possible to call the House of Representatives for either party overnight.
That statement alone is telling. Republicans were an overwhelming favorite to take control of the House – Decision Desk HQ gave the GOP an 80% chance. Decision Desk also gave Republicans a 57% chance to take the Senate on Monday.
Tranter told NewsNation’s Leland Vittert overnight it was possible now that Democrats could hold both the Senate and the House (though it remains likely that the GOP wins the House).
Tranter said the Republicans didn’t win many of the races they were expected to take from the Democrats in the House.

He fought off a challenge from Tim Michels, a Republican businessman.

He defeated Democratic challenger Kendra Horn.
Republican Kevin Stitt projected winner in Oklahoma governor’s race
NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the Oklahoma governor’s race for incumbent Republican Kevin Stitt.
He faced Democratic challenger Joy Hofmeister.
Here are the four Senate races that remain
With the Pennsylvania Senate race settled, only four crucial Senate races remain. These will determine which party holds the U.S. Senate.
- Arizona: Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly and Republican Blake Masters
- Georgia: Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock and Republican Herschel Walker
- Nevada: Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto and Republican Adam Laxalt
- Wisconsin: Democrat Mandela Barnes and Republican Sen. Ron Johnson
A Wisconsin decision is still a possibility this evening, but it’s unlikely the other three races will be projected in the next few hours.

Whitmer fended off a challenge from Republican Tudor Dixon.
Democrat John Fetterman projected winner in Pennsylvania Senate race
NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the Pennsylvania Senate race for Democrat John Fetterman.
Fetterman, the lieutenant governor of the state, defeated Republican challenger Mehmet Oz.
Democrat Jared Polis projected winner in Colorado governor’s race
NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the Colorado governor’s race for incumbent Democrat Jared Polis.
Polis will now enter his second term as leader of the Centennial State.
Democrat Patty Murray projected winner in Washington Senate Race

Murray, who has held the seat since 1992, defeated Republican challenger Tiffany Smiley.

Vicente Gonzalez Jr. defeated incumbent Republican Mayra Flores.
Republican Mike Crapo projected winner in Idaho Senate Race

Crapo, who has held the seat since 1998, defeated Democratic challenger David Roth.
Democrat Christopher Deluzio projected winner in Pennsylvania Congressional District 17

Deluzio defeated Republican Jeffrey Shaffer.
Democrat Wiley Nickel projected winner in North Carolina Congressional District 13

Nickel defeated Republican Bo Hine’s in the state’s newly formed congressional district.
Democrat Ron Wyden projected winner in Oregon Senate Race

Wyden, who has held the seat since 1996, defeated Republican challenger Jo Perkins.
Democrat Janet Mills projected winner in Maine governor’s race

Mills, who previously served as the state’s attorney general, is now set to begin her second term in office.
Republican Jennifer Kiggans projected winner in Virginia Congressional District 2

Kiggans defeated Democratic incumbent Elaine Luria.
Democrat Sharice Davids projected winner in Kansas Congressional District 3
NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the race in Kansas’s 3rd Congressional District for incumbent Democrat Sharice Davids.
Davids defeated Republican challenger Amanda Adkins in a rematch of the 2020 election. She’s now set to begin her third term in the U.S. House.
Republican Eric Schmitt projected winner in Missouri Senate race
NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the Missouri Senate race for Republican Eric Schmitt.
Schmitt, the state’s attorney general, was locked in a race to represent Missouri against Anheuser-Busch heiress, Democrat Trudy Busch Valentine.
Incumbent Republican Sen. Roy Blunt chose not to seek re-election.

Republican Chuck Grassley projected winner in Iowa Senate race
NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the Iowa Senate race for incumbent Republican Chuck Grassley.
Grassley, who was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1980, held off Democratic challenger Michael Franken Tuesday evening.
Democrat Kathy Hochul projected winner in New York governor’s race
NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the New York governor’s race for incumbent Democrat Kathy Hochul.
Hochul served as the state’s lieutenant governor before taking office following Andrew Cuomo’s resignation. She will now serve a full term as leader of the Empire State.
Democrat Greg Landsman projected winner in Ohio Congressional District 1
NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the race in Ohio’s 1st Congressional District for Democrat Greg Landsman.
Landsman’s victory comes at the expense of incumbent Republican Steve Chabot, who has held the seat since 2010.
Votes roll in in Nevada (So does a lawsuit)

Nevada Democratic U.S. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee have filed a lawsuit in Clark County to keep polling locations open, KLAS in Las Vegas is reporting. The Democrats say some people were unable to vote.
Earlier tonight, Republicans had accused the Democratic governor of trying to suppress votes because he closed state offices in Northern Nevada early because of snow.
Both the U.S. Senator and governor in Nevada are Democrats and in close races with Republican challengers.
Republican Ted Budd projected winner in North Carolina Senate race
NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the North Carolina Senate race for Republican Ted Budd.
Budd, who has served as the U.S. representative for North Carolina’s 13th congressional district, will replace retiring GOP senator Richard Burr.
Arizona results increasingly unlikely tonight
Arizona’s Maricopa County, which is home to Phoenix, has stated it might not have final election results tonight — and it could go as late as Friday.
Tabulator issues affected 60 voting locations in Maricopa County, Arizona, led Republicans to seek to extend voting hours. But Maricopa County Superior Court judge Timothy Ryan ruled against the request.
With about half of estimated votes in, both Democrats for the U.S. Senate and governor’s race are in the lead.
Democrat Richard Blumenthal projected winner in Connecticut Senate race
NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the Connecticut Senate race for incumbent Democrat Richard Blumenthal.
Blumenthal overcame Republican challenger Leora Levy and start his third term in office in January.
Democrat Chris Pappas projected winner in New Hampshire Congressional District 1
NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the race in New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District for incumbent Democrat Chris Pappas.
Papps defeated Republican Karoline Leavitt and will now begin his second term in office.
Democrat Gavin Newsom projected winner in California governor’s race
NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the California governor’s race for incumbent Democrat Gavin Newsom.
Newsom, who survived a 2021 recall election, is set to begin his second term in office.
