Hedging bets against a red wave

There was plenty of discussions about a “red wave,” where Republicans would dominate the midterms and win both the House and the U.S. Senate. The House still seems destined to go to the Republicans.

Some reasons:

“A red wave would get New Hampshire and I don’t think we’re going to get New Hampshire,” Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said on NewsNation moments before New Hampshire went to the Democrats.

There’s still a lot of races left to go — and many that won’t be called until later this year. The Georgia Senate race could go to a runoff. Republican J.D. Vance is projected to win the Ohio Senate race.

Judge won’t extend voting hours in Arizona

An Arizona judge won’t extend voting hours in Maricopa County. Republican groups had sued for an emergency extension until 10 p.m. after printer problems slowed voting in the area. The judge said the request could not be implemented in time, according to The Hill.

Tabulator issues affected 60 voting locations in Maricopa County.

The Republican National Committee, along with the campaigns of Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and Republican Senate candidate Blake Masters, filed an emergency motion to extend voting hours in Maricopa County. Arizona law allows anyone still in line when the polls close to vote.
