(NewsNation) — Millions of Americans head to the polls Tuesday to determine the balance of power in the U.S. House and Senate, and to decide crucial state races on everything from abortion restrictions to gubernatorial races to marijuana legalization to election reform.

Republican John Hoeven projected winner in North Dakota Senate race

NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the North Dakota Senate race for incumbent Republican John Hoeven.

Hoeven will now begin his third term in office after being elected to the seat in 2010.

Republican John Thune projected winner in South Dakota Senate race

NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the South Dakota Senate race for incumbent Republican John Thune.

With his victory Tuesday, Thune is set to begin his fourth term in the U.S. Senate.

Republican Greg Abbott projected winner in Texas governor’s race

NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the Texas governor’s race for incumbent Republican Greg Abbott.

Abbott saw off a challenge from Democrat Beto O’Rourke. With his victory Tuesday, Abbott will serve a third term as head of the Lone Star State.

Democrat Chuck Schumer projected winner in New York Senate race

NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the New York Senate race for incumbent Democrat Chuck Schumer.

Schumer, who currently serves as the Senate Majority Leader, has held his seat in the U.S. Senate since first being elected in 1998.

Republican Todd Young projected winner in Indiana Senate race

NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the Indiana Senate race for incumbent Republican Todd Young.

Young is now set to begin his second term in office after defeating Democrat Thomas McDermott on Tuesday.

Republican Mike DeWine projected winner in Ohio governor’s race

NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the Ohio governor’s race for incumbent Republican Mike DeWine.

DeWine, a former U.S. Senator, defeated Democratic challenger Nan Whaley and is set to begin his second term leading the Buckeye State.

Republican Sarah Huckabee Sanders projected winner in Arkansas governor’s race

NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the Arkansas governor’s race for Republican Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Sanders has defeated Democrat Chris Jones for the position, which will be vacated by current Governor Asa Hutchinson, a Republican, who has reached the state-set term limit and cannot run for re-election. 

Republican John Boozman projected winner in Arkansas Senate race

NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the Arkansas Senate race for incumbent Republican John Boozman.

Boozman is set to begin his third term in office after first being elected in 2010.

Democrat Maura Healey projected winner in Massachusetts governor’s race

NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the Massachusetts governor’s race for Democrat Maura Healey.

With Healey’s victory, Democrats will now be in charge of a governorship that has been in Republican’s control since Gov. Charlie Baker was elected in 2014.

Baker chose not to seek re-election this year.

Republican Henry McMaster projected winner in South Carolina governor’s race

NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the South Carolina governor’s race for incumbent Republican Henry McMaster.

McMaster, who previously served as the state’s lieutenant governor and attorney general, defeated Democratic challenger Joe Cunningham.

Republican Chris Sununu projected winner in New Hampshire governor’s race

NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ has called the New Hampshire governor’s race for incumbent Republican Chris Sununu.

With his re-election Tuesday, Sununu is set for a fourth term in office.

Frustration builds in Arizona

A spokesperson for GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake has issued a rebuke of the Maricopa County election system, calling it an “embarrassment” and a “violation of the civil rights of Arizona citizens.”

Lake and a coalition of Republican groups have filed suit to keep the polls open in Arizona to 10 p.m. local time.
