Alaska Airlines delays expected after brief nationwide ground stop
(NewsNation) — The Federal Aviation Administration lifted an advisory to ground all Alaska Airlines flights across the U.S. Wednesday, about an hour after it was issued.
The FAA posted the advisory around 8 a.m. Pacific time.
The airline said in a statement it requested the nationwide ground stop after it “experienced an issue while performing an upgrade to the system that calculates our weight and balance.”
An hour later, the airline said the issue had been resolved and it was releasing flights, with “residual delays” expected throughout the day.
“We apologize for the inconvenience and encourage guests to check the status of their flights on alaskaair.com or the Alaska App prior to heading to the airport,” the airline said in a statement.
