(NewsNation) —  Police in Terrell County, Texas have discovered a suspected stash house, complete with a tunnel, and arrested five people.

Terrell County Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland tells NewsNation that five people found inside the home were arrested, but the homeowner was not present.

All five suspects are in the U.S. illegally and were handed over to the U.S. Border Patrol for deportation.

Photos provided by the sheriff show the suspects, as well as a trap door leading to a tunnel. Also in the home: Santa Muerte statues.

Santa Muerte, or Saint Death, is a religious movement that’s become increasingly popular in the past two decades. Condemned by the Catholic Church, it counts about 12 million devotees, mostly in the Americas.

It’s also popular among members of the Gulf, Sinaloa and Juarez drug cartels.
