Deputies searching for escaped inmate in Greene County

Update (April 15) — Officials with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office said on Monday that Charles Orr is now back in custody.

GREENE COUNTY, Ind. — A search is underway after an inmate escaped from a community corrections facility in Greene County Friday.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office said deputies are searching for Charles Orr, who is described as a 5’09” white male weighing around 180 pounds with blonde hair and green eyes. GCSO said Orr allegedly escaped from the Greene County Community Corrections facility after removing his ankle bracelet.

Orr has skulls tattooed on both legs, tattoos of skulls and flames on his right and left arms, and two lightning bolts on his neck.

GCSO urged the public to avoid confronting Orr as he is considered to be armed and dangerous. Instead, the sheriff’s office asked anyone who locates Orr to contact 911.
