Las Vegas nail salon owner’s beating caught on camera; police looking for suspects

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas valley nail salon owner is recovering after he was attacked while at work and still trying to understand why he became a target. The beating was caught on video and police are trying to identify the four suspects behind the attack.

The victim, Nathan Nguyen, who is the owner of The Nail Palace on E. Flamingo Road near University Center Drive, said he wants people to see what the attackers did to him with the hope it will help catch those responsible.

The incident happened on Sunday when a woman entered the salon for a pedicure. Nguyen said it became clear she just wanted to use the bathroom and he said no. He said the woman broke a plant as she left the business.

Nguyen said the woman returned with three individuals who beat him for nearly a minute and stole his phone. The beating was captured on video and so was the red sedan the individuals appeared to drive away in.

“I did not do anything wrong yesterday, I did not hurt her too. I don’t understand why people come back and hurt me like that,” he said.

“There was blood all over the clothes. It looked like a horror movie,” said Nick Hardman, the victim’s spouse and a co-owner of the salon. He said he’s trying to make sense of what happened.

“It’s a crazy world and someone just went off and I don’t know why,” he said. “This could happen to someone else, someone could go off …. someone has got to do something and it’s got to be us, I mean unfortunately.”

Las Vegas Metropolitan police are working to identify the individuals. The business next to the Nail Salon also has video it’s sharing with the police.
