Around 2 a.m. Monday, the Winnetka Fire Department was alerted of a 50-year-old woman missing in the lake after a 12-foot sailboat capsized.
Officials believe the boat launched from Evanston and capsized around dusk. The boat was located about two to three miles from shore.
According to officials, the woman was on the boat with another woman, in her 50s, when the boat capsized. The two began swimming to shore but were separated due to wave conditions.
