Chicago Marathon to take place on Sunday

CHICAGO — The Chicago Marathon will once again bring thousands of runners and spectators to the city this weekend.

The marathon is in its 46th year in Chicago and is set to take place Sunday, October 13. The Men’s Wheelchair begins at 7:20 a.m. and starting corrals begin throughout the morning with the last starting at 8:35 a.m.


Spectators are granted access to Grant Park starting at 9:30 a.m. The marathon has also established Cheer Zones throughout the course.

Packet pick-up is underway at the Abbott Health & Fitness Expo at McCormick Place. It runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Many downtown street closures are already in place for the race. Several more will close early Sunday morning.
