KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) — An Illinois man has been charged with a felony after allegedly making threats of shooting two members of the Kansas City Chiefs organization at a Morgan Wallen concert in Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium.
Aaron Brown, 23, of Winchester, Illinois, faces a Class E felony of making a terroristic threat in the second degree. Brown was charged on Saturday and a $15,000 bond was set.
According to court documents, Kansas City police detectives and intelligence analysts in the Kansas City Fusion Center working at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Friday were monitoring threats at the concert.
The officers came across a threat posted on X against two individuals who were members of the Chiefs organization. These individuals were not identified in the documents.
This caused the concert to be delayed by approximately 40 minutes before Brown was apprehended by law enforcement.
Court documents say that around 9:30 p.m., plain clothes officers located Brown and his girlfriend making their way toward the main hallway of the floor level. Brown identified himself to officers and was initially placed on an investigative hold for terroristic threats.
Speaking with authorities, Brown’s girlfriend reportedly explained that he and his friends make burner accounts — which are anonymous and sometimes short-lived — to post “stupid stuff.” She added that she was aware of the post and warned him not to post it, but he believed nobody would read it.
According to the affidavit, Brown made the post because he is a Minnesota Vikings fan, a local outlet reported. Brown allegedly called it a “stupid, stupid mistake.”
Court documents claim that Brown has no current criminal history.
When the show finally did begin, fans saw the Chiefs’ big three — Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Chris Jones — escort Wallen, who was wearing a #7 Chiefs jersey (Harrison Butker) with “Wallen” on the back, to the stage.
