GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Michigan man faces up to life in prison after an argument at his wedding last weekend in Flint turned deadly.

According to the Flint Police Department, 29-year-old Terry Taylor Jr. was hit by a large SUV around 8 p.m. on Aug. 30 and later died from his injuries.

Investigators say the incident happened at a wedding where Taylor was a groomsman. The groom, 22-year-old James Shirah, was allegedly behind the wheel and intentionally struck Taylor at a high rate of speed.

FPD announced Wednesday evening that Shirah has been arraigned and charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bond. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.

Shirah’s bride, 21-year-old Savahna Collier, has been arraigned and charged with serving as an accessory after the fact to a felony. Her bond was set for $4,000. If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison.
