Most popular baby names of 2023 released ahead of Mother’s Day

(NewsNation) — For the fifth year in a row, Olivia and Liam are the most popular baby names in America, according to the Social Security Administration.

Emma and Noah followed pursuit in second place for the fifth consecutive year. However, Mateo joined the boys’ most popular names this year for the first time, ousting Benjamin from the 2022 most popular names list.


The least popular boy’s name on the list was Hollis and the least popular girl’s name on the list was Aylani.

The administration releases a list of the 1,000 most popular baby names annually ahead of every Mother’s Day to celebrate moms nationally.
