Fort Hood Army base searching for missing soldier

KILLEEN, Texas (NewsNation) — The Killeen Police Department and U.S. Army base Fort Hood is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing soldier.

According to a missing soldier alert sent by Fort Hood’s first Calvary Division on Thursday night, Sgt. Elder Fernandes is missing.


Family members of the 23-year-old reported to officers on August 19 that he was last seen by his Staff Sergeant on August 17, when he dropped him off at his residence located in the 2700 block of Woodlands Drive in Killeen. 

Fernandes is approximately 5’4” tall, and weighs approximately 133 pounds. He was last seen wearing black army shorts and a t-shirt with red athletic shoes.

The military base along with Killeen Police is actively searching for Fernandes.
