LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The man accused of gunning down his former fiancée and her new boyfriend is back in Nevada to face charges after fleeing to Arizona.
Clark County Detention Center records show Frederick Blanche Jr., 37, was booked into CCDC on Saturday on charges of murder and attempted murder. He is scheduled to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court on Monday morning.
Blanche is accused of killing 36-year-old Gina Martin, who had returned to Las Vegas to celebrate her 37th birthday on Aug. 4. She was killed the day before and her boyfriend, Brian Marshall, suffered critical injuries in the shooting attack which occurred in a parking lot behind an Avis car rental company on Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard on Aug. 3.
According to a warrant issued for the arrest of Blanche, police reviewed videos from Metro Fusion cameras as well as security video from the rental car agency which helped police identify Blanche’s vehicle and showed the shootings. It even picked up Martin’s voice saying something to the effect of “Fred, stop, don’t” when Blanche confronted Martin and Marshall in the parking lot.
Martin’s brother attempted to warn his sister after a conversation with Blanche but was unable to reach her.
Martin ended her relationship with Blanche after being in a relationship with him for about a year. For a list of local and state resources for domestic violence and abuse victims, visit this link.
