The president tested negative for the virus as of Tuesday, according to a letter from his physician. Bodycam video: A newly released video shows confusion among authorities in the immediate aftermath of the attempted assassination. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, shared the video on X. In it, authorities can be seen on the roof of a building where the gunman was shot and killed moments after his attempt at Trump’s life. Elon Musk: Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said in an interview on X that former President Donald Trump showed “great courage” in surviving the attempted assassination, but that he is not donating $45 million of his own money a month to bolster the former president’s campaign, calling media reports “simply not true.” The campaign rally attack led Musk to endorsing Trump for November’s election, a move the CEO says is not based on Trump’s “cult of personality” but instead a set of shared values. Influx of migrants: Chicago’s deputy mayor of immigration said Tuesday that officials are anticipating and preparing for the possibility of a large influx of migrants from the southern border to coincide with the city’s hosting of the Democratic National Convention. Zoom in: During last week’s Republican National Convention, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said the busing of people who crossed the southern border to other cities would continue “until we finally secure our border.” An additional 25,000 migrants would mark a large escalation in Abbott’s program.
