Polling: The race between Harris and Trump is nearly tied ahead of the debate in Philadelphia. The latest polling from the New York Times/Siena College revealed Trump leads Harris by just 1 point. Pundit predictions: Political commentator Bill O’Reilly predicts Harris will blame Trump for the Biden administration’s policy failures in Tuesday’s presidential debate. Speaking on NewsNation’s “On Balance with Leland Vittert,” O’Reilly said Harris is likely to deflect criticism on issues like Afghanistan, inflation and border policy by faulting Trump. Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville told “Dan Abrams Live” that Trump “better tighten his chin strap” because he’s “hearing good things out of Pittsburgh” about Harris’ debate preparation. I-75 shooting: The man accused of opening fire on an interstate in Kentucky sent a text message saying he planned “to kill a lot of people” less than 30 minutes before he shot and wounded multiple people on Interstate 75, an arrest warrant said. “I’m going to kill a lot of people. Well try at least,” Joseph Couch allegedly wrote in a message to his ex-wife. The manhunt for Couch continues, and authorities believe he is hiding in a remote, wooded area of southern Kentucky. Raided mansion: Sean “Diddy” Combs listed his Holmby Hills mansion in Los Angeles for $61.5 million, Page Six reported. Department of Homeland Security agents conducted the raids on March 25 at Combs’ multimillion-dollar mansion in Los Angeles as well as his Miami waterfront home. More than five months after the raids, law enforcement has released few details as to potential charges the music producer could be facing despite notifying the music mogul he is the subject of a federal criminal investigation. Venue change: A judge has granted a venue change for Bryan Kohberger, who requested the court to move his upcoming murder trial from the small town of Moscow, Idaho, arguing the small local jury pool was likely tainted by pretrial publicity. Latah County Judge John Judge stated several reasons behind his decision to allow Kohberger to change jurisdictions Monday, including hardship on the local courthouse staff. Idaho college killings: The trial for Kohberger is expected to start next June. He faces four murder charges in connection with the November 2022 stabbing deaths of University of Idaho students Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves in their off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho. Video: Body camera video shows a police officer dragging Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill out of his car by his arm and head and then forcing him onto the ground after Hill rolled up his window during a traffic stop. The police union for officers in Miami-Dade said in a statement that Hill was “not immediately cooperative.” The 30-year-old NFL star told CNN he was “embarrassed” and “shell-shocked” by the situation, and his agent said Hill is considering taking legal action. Investigation: Norfolk Southern says it has launched an investigation into allegations of potential misconduct by CEO Alan Shaw. The railroad company is reportedly looking into whether Shaw “engaged in an inappropriate workplace relationship,” according to CNBC. The latest >

Food insecurity rates: The food insecurity rate in the U.S. rose from 12.8% in 2022 to 13.5% in 2023, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. While 114.6 million households were food secure, an estimated 47 million American households had little to no food available for themselves or their families in 2023, according to reports. Border report: Rolling gunbattles between cartel members left four people dead and several vehicles shot-up just south of the Texas-Mexico border late Sunday and early Monday, Chihuahua state police said. Investigators are looking into social media posts allegedly made by members of the groups involved in the gunbattles but declined to comment on a potential motive. In the past few years, the area of the shooting in Mexico has been associated with a fight between two cartels – La Linea and Sinaloa – for control over migrant smuggling. Full report >

CMA Award nominations: Morgan Wallen tops the 2024 Country Music Association Awards nominations with seven. Wallen is up for entertainer of the year along with Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Chris Stapleton and Lainey Wilson. Before the nominations were announced, online chatter speculated whether Beyoncé, whose “Cowboy Carter” album was released during the eligibility window, would receive a nomination at the CMAs. ‘Cowboy Carter’: Earlier this year, Beyoncé became the first Black woman to top the Billboard country albums chart since the chart’s inception.
