CHICAGO (NewsNation Now) — At the White House Wednesday President Trump said fraud will force the election into the hands of the Supreme Court while his rival Joe Biden mined for votes in hotly contested North Carolina.

President Trump kept up his criticism of mail-in voting during his press briefing alleging some 80 million ballots are being sent to homes — unsolicited and ripe for fraud.

Even though voters in 41 of the 50 states must request a ballot by mail to get one, the president said he thinks election fraud will force the Supreme Court to step in.

“I think this will end up in the Supreme Court and I think it’s very important that we have nine justices,” said Trump.

He plans to introduce his nominee to be the ninth justice on Saturday afternoon.

When asked during a press conference about the decision on the Breonna Taylor case in Louisville and subsequent protests, the president praised Kentucky officials, including Democratic Governor Andy Beshear.

“I understand he’s called up the national guard which is a good thing, I think a very positive thing,” said Trump.

Former Vice President Biden has said the officers involved in the shooting in Louisville and a separate police shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin should be charged and that “we should let the judicial system work its way.”

Biden stopped in Charlotte, North Carolina Wednesday where he told a group of Black businessmen the nation now has what he called “a gigantic opportunity” to reach greater racial equality.

“But there’s only one way to do it. we gotta show up and vote. But I believe the American people are not going to be turned off,” said Biden. “I believe no matter what the administration does to make it hard to vote for everyone – not just people of color – for everyone no matter what, I think they’re gonna vote.”

He also pledged that — if elected — he would fight to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour – anything less he said equals poverty.

“Nobody in America should be working a 40-hour-a-week job and still be living in poverty,” said Biden.

Meantime in Washington, a senate investigation into corruption allegations against Biden found no evidence that he sought to improperly manipulate American policy toward Ukraine, where his so, Hunter, sat on the board of an energy company and was handsomely rewarded for his work.

“Awkward” and “problematic” for his father, the committee said but it stopped there. The president has spoken often of the allegations to question his rival’s fitness for office
