Animal shelter will turn heartbreak into kitty litter revenge
- A Rhode Island launched the "Love Stinks" promotion
- Ex-lovers can submit their ex's name to be buried in cat litter
- An $5 donation is needed to participate
(NewsNation) — For Valentine’s Day, a Rhode Island animal shelter is offering a chance to turn heartbreak into feline revenge.
The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA) launched the “Love Stinks” promotion, allowing estranged lovers and ex-friends to have the name of their former partner buried in kitty litter, UPI reported.
For a $5 donation, participants can submit the name or anything they want to consign to a litter box. The RISPCA promises that their shelter cats will do their part by turning the names into litter box treasures.
Officials at the RISPCA detailed the amusing initiative on the fundraiser’s website, stating, “For a $5 donation, we will write the name of an ex-friend, lover, or even something you wish to bury in a litter box for our shelter cats to poop all over. How’s that for stinky retripootion?”
The fundraiser is set to run through Valentine’s Day, providing a lighthearted and unconventional outlet for those looking to celebrate in a different way. Participants can contribute to the cause and enjoy a bit of sweet and stinky satisfaction, all while supporting the welfare of shelter animals.
