(NewsNation) — Justin Timberlake says Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce once chest bumped him so hard he fell to the ground.
During an appearance on “The Tonight Show” on Thursday, Timberlake, 42, spoke with host Jimmy Fallon about a golf tournament they both played with Kelce and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Fallon talks about how the “Sexy Back” singer helped coach him out of a sand trap during the tournament, and they both get up to demonstrate. Fallon made an incredible shot, sinking the ball into the hole from the sand trap.
A video clip from the tournament showed the wild play, and all four man screamed in shock and ran on the green field in celebration.
Kelce, 34, can be seen running toward Fallon and lifting him off the ground in a spinning hug as Timberlake runs in an excited circle around the sand trap.
“I haven’t run that fast since,” Timberlake joked.
“Travis lifted me up in the air,” Fallon said. “Even the other team was rooting for me. That’s how bad I am.”
“I saw my life flash before my eyes,” Timberlake says of the next part of the clip, which shows the chest bump from Kelce. “I was like, ‘he’s doing it, I have to do it’,” Timberlake recalled thinking at the time.
After setting Fallon back on the ground, Kelce can be seen running toward Mahomes and Timberlake, who is also still running. The jog toward each other for the chest bump, and Timberlake tumbles backwards, rolling on his back with his legs in the air.
“I forgot that he weighs, like, 80 pounds more than me,” Timberlake said. “While that might not look like much,” he said of the clip, he noted his neck was stiff for “like a week.”
The former NSYNC member was on the program Thursday to promote his new single “Selfish” and announced the title of his upcoming album will be “Everything I Thought It Was.”
Timberlake also announced the Forget Tomorrow World Tour, which will kick off April 29 in Vancouver, Canada. Tickets will go on sale through Timberlake’s fan club on Jan. 29, followed by Citi and Verizon presales on Jan. 30. General sales open Feb. 2.
