American Airlines asks judge to dismiss lawsuit after teen girl finds hidden bathroom camera
CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — American Airlines has requested to be formally dropped from a recent lawsuit involving a former flight attendant who allegedly filmed multiple children in airplane bathrooms, according to court documents.
Attorneys for American Airlines filed the motion on Jan. 30, 2024.
Former American Airlines flight attendant, Estes Carter Thompson III, 37, is accused of secretly recording minor passengers using the bathroom on five separate occasions.
On Jan. 18, 2024, he was arrested and charged with:
- Attempted sexual exploitation of children
- Possession of child pornography depicting a prepubescent minor
Investigators also found AI child pornography on Estes’ personal devices.
The family of a 14-year-old girl filed a lawsuit against the airline and Estes in October 2023. American Airlines filed a motion last week requesting to be removed from the suit.
Airline officials said they would give the plaintiffs the information they were requesting on the suspect and other employees who were on the flight with the 14-year-old girl.
