‘Goodbye Pies’ offered this Valentine’s Day to help with breakups
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. While typically a time for romantic gestures, it’s also a time for breakups.
The Tuesday before Valentine’s Day is sometimes referred to as “Red Tuesday,” believed to be a common day for couples to split.
Pizza Hut is offering people in select U.S. cities a way out of their relationships — albeit, in a passive-aggressive way — through pizza.
From now through February 14, people in Chicago, New York, or Miami, at select locations, can order a “Goodbye Pie” through the website GoodbyePies.com.
The pizza is a limited edition Hot Honey pizza, which has a crispy crust and is topped with cupped pepperoni and then drizzled with habanero-infused honey.
It’s delivered in a custom box that can contain a small, personal message and space on top of the box for the person breaking up to include their name.
“The rising popularity of the sweet-heat flavor profile has led to Hot Honey becoming the most requested test item by our team members, and we are thrilled to have it as the newest addition to our menu,” said Lindsay Morgan, chief marketing officer at Pizza Hut, in a press release. “With the launch of Goodbye Pies, we are bringing that perfect blend of sweet and heat experience to real life, delivering spicy news in the sweetest way for Valentine’s Day.”
For those not in Chicago, New York, or Miami, don’t despair. You can still visit the website to send a break-up text to a soon-to-be ex, along with a gift card for a free hot-honey pizza for a limited time and while supplies last.
If you miss out on that, you can still GoodbyePies.com and use their Break-up Excuse Generator if you’re having trouble coming up with the right words.
