TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Have you noticed a chirping sound coming from your phone lately while scrolling on the Facebook app?
According to Dataconomy, the sound, which occurs during scrolling, is part of a new update to make the mobile experience “more engaging and interactive.”
It’s not a particularly obtrusive feature of the app, but it might not be everyone’s cup of tea to hear a chirping sound while trying to check up on friends and family.
If you are one of those people, you can easily turn it off. Just follow these steps:
- Click on the bottom right icon of your app, which should open your menu.
- Scroll down to Settings under Settings and Privacy.
- Under Preferences, click on Media and tap Sounds. Then click the toggle to off In-App Sounds. This should not affect video sound.
If all else fails, put your phone on silent. That should work, too.
