(NewsNation) — Rachel Morin’s family wants to know why it’s taken authorities six months to release a sketch of the man they suspect killed the mother of five.
“Six months is a long time,” Morin’s brother Michael said during a Tuesday appearance on “Banfield.” “A lot of people say time heals. But in this wound, not having him captured, it’s like bacteria and it’s been festering.”
The 37-year-old was reported missing in August by her boyfriend, who said she never returned after going out for a run. Her body was found on a trail the following day.
The release of the sketch by Maryland police is the biggest break in the case since investigators were able to trace the suspect to another crime in California.
Rachel Morin’s mother Patty Morin joined “Dan Abrams Live” on Tuesday to share her thoughts about the new development. She said she’s happy “we have a face we can look for” now because of the sketch.
