(NewsNation) — New bodycam footage shows 22-year-old Riley Strain having a brief exchange with a Nashville officer on the night of his disappearance.
The University of Missouri college senior went missing Friday, March 8, after reportedly getting kicked out of a bar downtown. Over a week later, authorities are working to retrace his steps to uncover what happened.
The new bodycam footage comes from Nashville Police Department Officer Reginald Young, who was responding to a vehicle burglary call. Strain and Young exchange brief and cordial pleasantries on Gay St. around 9:52 p.m., when Strain was last seen on video.
In the video, Strain does not seem distressed or visibly intoxicated. However, surveillance video from just minutes earlier showed him stumbling and unable to keep his head straight.
At 10:15 p.m., Strain’s phone pinged near James Robertson Parkway and Gay Street. Detectives say one of the last conversations Strain had with one of his friends also happened around this time.

Strain was in Music City for a fraternity conference with his Delta Chi fraternity brothers on March 8 when he went missing after he was asked to leave Luke Bryan’s bar, Luke 32 Bridge.
On Sunday, Strain’s bank card was discovered on the embankment of the Cumberland River, Metro Nashville Police announced.
After his disappearance, the Nashville PD said it was working to locate Strain, asking the public for tips.
Strain is six feet, five inches tall, with a slender build, blond hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information can call the Metro Nashville Police Department at 615-862-8600.
