NOBLE, Okla. (KFOR) — It’s a story about some resilient Oklahoma kids and their love of French fries. After the story took off around the world on social media, the kids finally got what they were promised.

“I told them I was going to give them a French fry party at school, so that’s what I did,” said Somer Williams, the owner of the Noble Smokin’ Joes BBQ.

Williams made good on her promise on Tuesday.

In late February, the restaurant kept getting calls from children with an unusual request.

“They asked if we had French fries and if we would deliver them,” said Williams.

Day after day, the calls wouldn’t stop. So, Somer posted on Facebook trying to figure out who was on the other end of the line.

“‘Hey check your kids to see if they’re ordering French fries from us.’ And it just went viral,” said Williams.

You could say, people from all over the world were mysta-fried, commenting and wanting updates.

Williams cooked up a plan to get a lead when they called again.

“I was like, ‘I’m going to give a French fry party to your school if I can talk to your mom,'” said Williams.

The kids didn’t hand the phone over to their mom. Instead, one of the other kids posed as the parent.

Eventually, Williams discovered the children attended Katherine I. Daily Elementary.

The school helped Williams figure out who the hungry culprits are—Miley, 11, Emily, 9, and Linda, 5.

The trio said the idea came from the youngest.

“Not me,” said Miley Hodges.

“[Linda] said I had to say she wanted French fries,” said Emily Hodges.

“I wanted some french fries,” said Linda Hodges.

The school helped Somer get in touch with the parents. They were shocked and had no idea.

With their identities known, Williams finally delivered the order by giving each of the girls classes a French fry party.

“I am glad she never lied to me,” said Linda Hodges.

“When you tell a child something, you follow through,” said Williams.

Williams has since set up a GoFundMe for her new French fry friends, hoping to help them with their futures.
