Kentucky man sentenced after responding to ‘Any pervs in Kentucky’ thread
COVINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A U.S. District Judge sentenced a Kentucky man for child pornography distribution on Wednesday.
The Department of Justice said 66-year-old Michael Earl Huey, from Hanson, was sentenced to 18 years in prison after accepting a plea agreement.
According to the plea agreement, on October 17, 2022, an undercover employee with law enforcement posted a message online reading, “any pervs in Kentucky.” Huey responded and started a private conversation with the agent.
The department said Huey shifted their conversation to another messaging platform and shared several depictions of child pornography with the employee. Huey admitted that he knowingly distributed these visual depictions, knowing they contained minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
On November 16, 2022, authorities searched Huey’s home and found his phone, which contained around 65 images and 16 videos of child pornography.
The DOJ said Huey did not oppose a sentencing enhancement for engaging in a pattern of activity involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors at his sentencing.
