Google outage impacting users worldwide: reports
(The Hill) — Google was hit with a worldwide outage impacting thousands of users Wednesday morning.
According to Down Detector, more than 1,000 reports of Google’s services being down came in around 10:49 a.m. EDT.
The most reported problem was using the search engine and website.
Based on the tracker’s map, users in the United States were affected most in Seattle, Denver and New York City. The Daily Mail reported that users in the United Kingdom, Australia, other parts of Europe, South America and Asia have also reported problems.
It’s not known how many users were affected by the outage, but Down Detector said it only reports an incident when the number of reports is “significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day.”
The Hill has reached out to Google for comment and clarification on the outage.
