LUBBOCK, Texas — Reese Logan, a Lubbock realtor and Texas Tech student will complete a huge milestone from the Rawls College of Business on Friday, but what she was not expecting was starting a new chapter of her life as a fiancée.

Logan shared to NewsNation local affiliate KLBK on April 30 that she had no idea her long-time boyfriend, Ryan Hartman was going to propose while she took graduation photos.

Reminiscing that day Logan said, “We got to the [TTU] Seal and started taking photos.” She added the photographer took at least an hour and a half to take graduation photos.

Hartman, who waited for over an hour, remained calm and collected the entire time. “He was super chill. Nothing was too alarming. Like I really didn’t know [that he was going to propose],” Logan said.

Logan mentioned the couple had spoken about what ring she liked and wanted, but was not expecting the question to come up so soon.

“Yeah around graduation makes sense, but I had no idea he asked my dad,” Logan expressed. “I didn’t even know he had a ring.”

Logan was also unaware he had planned the entire proposal with her photographer. After capturing graduation photos by herself the photographer brought in Hartman for the two of them to take photos together.

“All of a sudden my friend comes up to me to fix my hair and remove my stole. I kinda felt ambushed and a bit suspicious,” Logan expressed. “The next thing I knew he was on one knee,” she said.

Logan said it all happened so fast that she blacked out at that moment.

“The first thing I said when I turned around was ‘no way.’ I wanted to cry, but I was so shocked that I couldn’t. All I could say was ‘no way’, she repeated.

She was in disbelief at that moment when he proposed. “Like how did I not know,” Logan baffled.

She told EverythingLubbock.com there was one time she mentioned that “it would be so cool if someone would propose at the seal.”

“I can’t believe he listened when I said that out loud [like] it’s such a staple and iconic moment [for a proposal],” Logan said. “It was definitely a surprise,” Logan added.

“Not only was I taking pictures for my graduation but I also got engaged. It was like a high on top of a high,” said Logan.

After graduation “The Hartmans” plan to stay in Lubbock to continue their endeavors in real estate and marketing. Logan said her parents are Texas Tech Alumni and added “It’s special to be in the Hub City and do what they did when they were [my] age.”
