Las Vegas parking tickets can be paid with school supplies donation
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — If you get ticketed in the city of Las Vegas for an overtime meter, parking in a restricted time zone, taking two spaces, parking more than 72 hours, or some other infractions, you can pay for the ticket by donating school supplies.
Tickets must be issued between May 1 and June 14, 2024, for a person to qualify for the donation program.
According to the city, ticketed violators can pay the ticket by bringing new, unwrapped school supplies of equal or greater value of their fine to the Parking Services Offices at 350 S. City Parkway within 30 days of the citation date. A sales receipt for the supplies is required.
“So it’s not a discount but it’s a way to give back to the community. No one likes getting a parking ticket so it’s fun to shop and help the teachers in our community,” parking officer supervisor Evelyn Valdez said.
Those with tickets can also buy supplies online and have them delivered to the Parking Services Offices with their citation number in the notes section of the delivery.
Some of the school supplies needed include:
- Pencils
- Pens
- Erasers
- Dry erase markers
- Index cards
- Paper towels/Disinfecting wipes
- Card stock
- Copy paper
- Storage bins
- Rulers
- Scissors
- Pencil sharpeners
- Post-it notes
