Wegmans recalls pepperoni product that may have metal
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Wegmans is recalling some of its Italian Classics Uncured Pepperoni due to possible foreign metal materials.
According to the recall, which was posted this past weekend, the pepperoni products under recall have a UPC code of “2-07939-00000-6,” with “best by” dates of August 28 and August 29, 2024.
Wegmans has over 100 stores across eight states – Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The grocery chain also has a location in Washington, D.C., according to the Wegmans website.
Anyone who bought the potentially tainted pepperoni can get a full refund by taking it to a Wegmans customer service desk for a full refund.
For more information, customers can call Wegmans Customer Care at 1-855-934-3663 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. or weekends from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
It’s the second recall ordered over potential metal pieces in the past several weeks. In late May, Walmart recalled a Pedigree dog food product sold in 176 stores over potential “loose metal pieces” mixed in with the kibble.
