$450k in suspected cocaine washes ashore in Alabama: MCSO
DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. (WKRG) — Officials with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said they are investigating after 25 kilograms of suspected cocaine washed up on Dauphin Island Thursday.
An MCSO news release said the Dauphin Island Police Department contacted them after the possible drugs washed up on the west side of the island.
MCSO Narcotics detectives searched the beach for more packages, but they did not find any. They are continuing to monitor the area.
The street value for 25 kilos of cocaine is $450,000, according to officials.
