CLAY COUNTY, Texas (KFDX/KJTL) — The search for a missing Nocona, Texas man ends tragically after his body was discovered by authorities on Tuesday morning.

Bryce Dingler, 29, of Nocona, was first reported missing by the Clay County, Texas, Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Officials said Dingler was last seen on Butler Road, about one mile west of Jolly, and his truck was left on the side of Highway 287 early Wednesday morning with his ID and cell phone still inside the truck.

According to a press release from Clay County Sheriff Kirk Horton, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office organized a search party on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, to conduct a more refined search of the area where Dingler’s truck was found.

Sheriff Horton said the search effort Tuesday morning included volunteers, law enforcement, and members of Dingler’s family.

According to Sheriff Horton, a body was located in a densely vegetated field. He said the body was positively identified as Dingler through the investigation on the scene.

Sheriff Horton said Dingler’s body has been sent for autopsy to determine the cause of death, and the investigation is still ongoing. He said updates will be released as they become available.
