NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) – Norwalk Police made an arrest Friday in an ongoing investigation to stop smoke shops from selling cannabis without a license.
In collaboration with the Connecticut Consumer Protection Drug Control Division, Police issued a search and seizure warrant for ZaZa Smoke Shop at 360 Connecticut Ave.
This was the second search and seizure warrant for the ZaZa Smoke Shop. It was reported to police that the shop was selling cannabis products that were laced with fentanyl.
The search yielded several hundred products beyond the legal limit of 0.3% THC as well as 3.5 lbs of cannabis flower and THC gummies well above the legal limit. Many of the products found in the search did test positive for fentanyl.
Ali Mahmood Ahmed Abdullah Ghaleb, a 21-year-old from New York, was arrested and given a $15,000 bond. Ghaleb is due to appear in court on the 16th of August.
