OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Emergency crews responded to a reported plane crash in the Oklahoma City metro Tuesday afternoon.

Fire crews say four people were on board and there are no survivors.

“No information on the family, just know there were four souls on board. I don’t have ages, names, anything,” Scott Douglas with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

The KFOR crew in McIntyre Law Chopper4 could see smoke and debris from the air.

“In route fire fighters did witness a plume of smoke coming around the area,” said Douglas.

According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, the crash happened near 13000 block of N Sara Rd. around 1:30 p.m.

“It looked like the plane had crashed onto tree’s, it was kind of in a wooded area,” said Douglas. “It was a lot of fires that was active, firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.”

The Federal Aviation Administration released a statement to News 4 following the crash:

A single-engine Beechcraft BE33 crashed while departing from Sundance Airport in Oklahoma City around 1:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday, Aug. 6. Four people were on board. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation and will provide further updates.
