ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) — Disney has made a huge announcement regarding several expansion plans coming to three of their four theme parks in the coming years.

As part of D23, the company’s three-day fan festival, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro unveiled plans on Saturday for Orlando’s Disney World, along with other Disney parks around the world.

Magic Kingdom

The park, home to Cinderella’s castle, will have the “largest expansion” in the history of Magic Kingdom.

Work is also scheduled to begin on a new park area featuring two “Cars” franchise attractions in 2025. Disney shared the below concept drawings of those attractions.

Additionally, guests will see the dark side when they enter, Villians Land, a new space dedicated to Disney villains. It will include “two major attractions, dining, and shopping on an incredibly twisted grand scale,” according to the Disney Parks Blog. Work has already begun on this area.

And even when the sun sets, the party isn’t over. Disney parks will soon have a nighttime parade called, “Disney Starlight,” which is set to debut next summer.

Hollywood Studios

New construction will begin next year in nearby Hollywood Studios with the “Star Wars” rides and the daunting “Tower of Terror.”

Disney announced that the first-ever full land will be dedicated to “Monsters, Inc.,” where humans will enter the inside of the factory for the first time. Work on this attraction is set to begin next year.

Animal Kingdom

For all the animal lovers who visit this Disney park, fans will be able to experience two brand-new attractions.

Centered around “Indiana Jones” and “Encanto,” guests will soon be able to enter the Tropical Americas. According to Disney, construction will begin this fall but the area won’t open until 2027.

“Disney Experiences is embarking on an accelerated path of ambitious growth and
innovation,” said D’Amaro. “With so many great Disney stories to tell, we’re excited to
bring an unprecedented number of new projects to life in the near future, whether it be
in our theme parks, on our cruise ships or through our partnership with Epic Games in
the digital space.”

The company also announced that Disney World’s Tiana’s Bayou will make its debut at Disneyland in California, just in time for the holiday season. Next year, construction is set to begin on the Avengers Campus at Disneyland, bringing in two new attractions, Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab.
